The agreement between you and Criterion One covering our training, coaching, classes, and the Standards app.
EFFECTIVE DATE: September 22, 2026 · LAST UPDATED: September 24, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Criterion One website, the Standards application, and any training, coaching, classes, or programming we provide (together, the "Services"). The Services are operated by Criterion One, LLC ("Criterion One," "we," "us"), a limited liability company registered in Georgetown, Texas.
By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, registering for a class, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a subscription or register for training. Participants under 18 may train only with the written consent and on-site supervision of a parent or legal guardian, at our discretion.
You represent that you may lawfully purchase, possess, and handle firearms and ammunition under all federal, state, and local laws that apply to you, and that you are not prohibited from doing so. You are solely responsible for knowing and complying with the laws that apply to you. Criterion One does not provide legal advice.
Criterion One provides criteria-based training across shooting, physical readiness, and mental execution. Depending on what you purchase, this may include in-person private instruction, virtual coaching sessions, scheduled group classes, and access to the Standards application, which provides drills, defined standards, programming, and performance tracking.
We may change, improve, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. We will give reasonable notice of material changes that affect a paid subscription.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for maintaining the security of your account and any access link or credential, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at info@criterionone.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
Accounts are for a single individual. You may not share, resell, or transfer access. Team and agency access is available under a separate written agreement.
Standards app access is sold as a recurring subscription in the tiers published on our pricing page. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full payment card details.
Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period — monthly or annually, as selected — at the then-current rate, until cancelled. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
Cancellation. You may cancel at any time, on your own, through the billing portal linked from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep full access until that period ends, and you are not charged again.
Refunds. Monthly plans: we do not refund partial months. If you cancel after a month has been charged, you retain access through the end of that billing cycle. Annual plans: you may request a full refund within fourteen (14) days of purchase by emailing us; after fourteen days, annual payments are non-refundable and access continues through the end of the paid term. Coaching tier: unused monthly one-on-one sessions do not roll over to the following month; sessions may be rescheduled with at least twenty-four (24) hours' notice.
Price changes. We may change subscription pricing. Changes will not affect your current billing period, and we will give advance notice before a changed price takes effect on renewal.
Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may suspend access until payment succeeds and may cancel the subscription after a reasonable retry period.
Class registrations and private sessions are subject to availability and to any prerequisites stated for that offering.
If you cancel:
— 14 or more days before the scheduled date: full refund, or full credit toward a future offering, your choice.
— 7 to 13 days before: 50% refund, or 100% credit toward a future offering.
— Fewer than 7 days, or no-show: no refund. In the case of a documented emergency, we may issue a credit or transfer your registration to another student — at our discretion, decided case by case.
If we cancel — for weather, range closure, instructor unavailability, insufficient enrollment, or any other reason — you receive a full refund or a full credit toward a future offering, your choice.
Rescheduling a private session requires at least twenty-four (24) hours' notice.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel any registration, and to remove any participant from training, at our sole discretion — including for unsafe conduct, impairment, or failure to follow instructions. Removal for unsafe conduct is not refundable.
Firearms training is inherently dangerous. Live-fire and physical training involve risk of serious injury, permanent disability, or death — to you and to others — including risks that cannot be entirely eliminated by instruction, supervision, or safety procedures.
By participating, you knowingly and voluntarily assume all such risks. You agree to follow all safety rules, range regulations, and instructions from Criterion One staff and range personnel at all times, and to immediately stop any activity when told to do so.
Every in-person participant must sign a separate liability waiver and assumption-of-risk agreement before training. These Terms do not replace that waiver. This waiver is completed electronically as part of booking — see the confirmation step for in-person classes and private sessions — with state-specific language for Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina.
Physical readiness programming involves strenuous activity. You should consult a physician before beginning any new training program, particularly if you have a medical condition, injury, or are pregnant. Criterion One does not provide medical advice, and our programming is not a substitute for evaluation or treatment by a qualified healthcare professional. Stop training and seek medical attention if you experience pain, dizziness, or other warning signs.
Criteria-based training gives you measurable standards and a defined path — it does not guarantee any particular score, classification, qualification, competitive placement, employment outcome, or performance in a real-world encounter. Your results depend on factors outside our control, including your effort, consistency, and circumstances.
You agree not to: use the Services for any unlawful purpose; misrepresent your identity or eligibility; interfere with, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems; scrape or bulk-extract our content; or use the Services to train others commercially without our written permission.
The Services, including our drills, standards, programming, curricula, written and visual content, software, brand, and the "criteria-based training" methodology, are owned by Criterion One and protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use them for your own training while your account is in good standing.
You may not copy, distribute, publish, sell, or create derivative works from our materials, or use them to build or deliver a competing training product or service.
You retain ownership of the training data you enter. You grant us a license to store, process, and analyze it in order to operate the Services — including scoring your performance against standards, generating your programming, and producing your progress reports — and to use aggregated, de-identified data to improve our training methodology.
Our collection and handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Except as expressly stated in these Terms, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data or measurement will be accurate in every case.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Criterion One and its owners, instructors, employees, and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Services.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. [REVIEW — nothing in these Terms is intended to limit liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for gross negligence or willful misconduct where prohibited by applicable state law.]
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Criterion One and its owners, instructors, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal fees arising out of your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your negligent or intentional acts during training.
You may stop using the Services at any time and cancel your subscription as described above. We may suspend or terminate your access — with or without notice — for violation of these Terms, unsafe conduct, non-payment, or where required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnification) will survive.
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and give reasonable notice. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your subscription will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Williamson County, Texas, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.
Informal resolution first. Before filing anything, you agree to contact us at info@criterionone.com and give us thirty (30) days to resolve the issue directly. Most disputes are resolved this way, and it costs neither of us anything.
Nothing in this section limits any right you have under the law of the state where training took place, where that law cannot be waived by agreement.
