Trust The Process; Prove The Performance

Criterion One develops complete performers through criteria-based training in shooting, physical readiness, and mental execution. Our standard aligns clear outcomes, repeatable processes, and demonstrated performance to guide continuous improvement.

— The Method

Define. Build. Train. Prove. Refine.

  1. 01DefineEstablish the desired outcome and what successful performance requires. Give training a clear direction before practice begins.
  2. 02BuildDevelop the component skills and organize them into a repeatable system. Identify what the task requires and how you will prepare for it.
  3. 03TrainPractice with intent. Develop skills in isolation, integrate them through purposeful repetition, and use feedback to strengthen the process.
  4. 04ProveBring the skills together with the mental approach the task requires. Evaluate performance against defined criteria and examine the process behind it.
  5. 05RefineIdentify the gap between intended and actual performance. Adjust the system, train the changes, and prove it again.

01 / The Standard

What Is the Standard?

At Criterion One, a standard is more than a score. It aligns outcome, process, and performance.

The outcome defines what success requires. The process is how we prepare to deliver it. Performance is what we demonstrate.

A criterion helps you determine whether you met a requirement. Our standard guides what you train next.

Find your standard.

Scheduled group classes, open to register — pistol and rifle, skills-and-standards through applied performance. Every class is built on the same criteria-based standard as everything else here.

03 / The App

Your standard, between classes.

Standards builds your training plan from your experience and your goal, then scores every session against a defined standard — so progress is a number you watch move, not a feeling. Dry-fire programming, live-fire days, and your own history in one place.

Founders

Both founders are still on the line — active competitors and practitioners, refining their own skill sets against the same clock they put in front of you. Behind that, 42 years of real-world experience between them, earned on global operations in support of national-level missions, foreign and domestic, where standards performed on demand was the culture and not the marketing. Nothing reaches a student that hasn't been pressure-tested by the people teaching it.

The Standard doesn't change with the student. The criterion does.

You can meet a criterion. You never finish the Standard.
