Process-Driven. Criteria-Based.

A Clear Path to Performance.

Define the outcome. Build the process. Train with purpose.

The Criterion One Performance Loop

Define. Build. Train. Prove. Refine.

Every phase has a purpose. Together, they connect the outcome you expect, the process you train, and the performance you can demonstrate.

01Define. Establish the desired outcome and what successful performance requires. Give training a clear direction before practice begins.
02Build. Develop the component skills and organize them into a repeatable system. Identify what the task requires and how you will prepare for it.
03Train. Practice with intent. Develop skills in isolation, integrate them through purposeful repetition, and use feedback to strengthen the process.
04Prove. Bring the skills together with the mental approach the task requires. Evaluate performance against defined criteria and examine the process behind it.
05Refine. Identify the gap between intended and actual performance. Adjust the system, train the changes, and prove it again.

01 / Three Disciplines. One Process.

The demands differ. The process remains consistent.

Shooting, physical readiness, and mental execution contribute to performance. We apply the same cycle of preparation, practice, evaluation, and refinement across all three.

D—01

Shooting

Develop technical skills through deliberate practice. Build speed and accuracy with distinct intent, then integrate both to meet the demands of the task.

D—02

Physical Readiness

Let the demands of performance guide physical preparation. Develop the strength, capacity, and movement quality needed to support consistent execution.

D—03

Mental Execution

Train how you direct attention, make decisions, and approach the task. Use that deliberate mental approach to bring your skills together when performance is required.

02 / What The Standard Looks Like

Numbers as proof.

Take one benchmark drill from the Criterion One library: the Bill Drill at 7 yards. On the beep, draw and fire six shots into the A-zone, as fast as every hit stays accountable. The criterion is a time.

Beginner3.00s
Novice2.50s
Intermediate2.00s
Advanced1.75s

One shooter, one lap of the loop

01Define. The next criterion is 2.50s, Novice.
02Build. A training block aimed at that 2.50s, set to the days they can actually train.
03Train. Reps at the edge of control, right where the hits start to slip.
04Prove. The timer reads 2.62s with all six hits in the A-zone: 0.12s off the criterion.
05Refine. The splits are already quick. The first shot from the draw is the long pole, so that's what the next block trains.

Example shooter. The criteria are the real ones from the drill library.
